Becoming all eye

Welcome,

My name is Zoe, and for as long as I can remember I’ve had a passion for seeing.  At first I didn’t know what to make of it, but gradually as I grew up I gathered that this passion had a name; it was called contemplation and I’ve spent much of my life trying to make sense of it.

Like a good wine, contemplation needs to be tasted and savoured.  This site offers a foretaste.  It is dedicated to the vocation – our common human vocation – of becoming all eye.

On the About pages you’ll find more information about me and the vision for this site.  In Studio you’ll find a small exhibition of photographs which changes each year. The Archive contains completed and/or published articles which have been laid-down to mature.  My Blog is the work in progress; the place where I experiment with bringing words and images together.  By subscribing to my mailing-list you can be kept informed about updates and also about any forthcoming publications.

Consider this site a space for marinating and musing. The doors and windows are open; come and go as you please. Breeze through or browse here. See what strikes you.  And if these reflections inspire you to make your own experiments in seeing, then I’ll be well pleased.
